The Guidelines on Strengthening River Basin Organisations were formulated through an all inclusive consultative process. Many thanks go to representatives of Member States who have been very supportive to this process especially through their participation in the annual RBO Workshop series. The purpose of this guideline is to establish a set of procedures that can assist River Basin Organisations (RBOs) with the implementation of environmental management. The guideline was designed to help practitioniers assimilate, evaluate, and implement the ever increasing amount of evidence on best practices.
