South African Water, Energy & Food Forum (SAWEF 2012)
Venue: Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg, South Africa
The South African Water, Energy and Food Forum (SAWEF 2012: Managing the Mega-Nexus) brings the global dialogue around the increasingly interconnected nature of our water, energy and agriculture resources to South Africa.
Renowned international water scientists Margaret Catley-Carlson, Chair of the Global Agenda Council for the World Economic Forum and member of the United Nations Secretary General Advisory Board on Water and Dr Jerome Delli-Priscoli, senior advisor, United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), at the Institute for Water Resources, will fly in to Sandton to headline the second SA Water, Energy and Food Forum, a two-day event aimed at breaking down the silo mentality on the water-energy-food-climate change mega-nexus.
The mega-nexus is rapidly emerging as one the key strategic issues of our time, with similar dialogues being carried on by the United Nations, The World Economic Forum and the Bonn Group in Germany.
