Department for International Development (DFID)

Website: http://www.dfid.gov.uk/
The Department for International Development (DFID) is the part of the UK Government that manages Britain's aid to poor countries and works to eliminate extreme poverty. DFID supports long-term programmes to help tackle the underlying causes of poverty. DFID also responds to emergencies, both natural and man-made. DFID is working internationally to tackle climate change, by helping developing countries to participate in international negotiations on climate change and to integrate adaptations to climate change impacts into their development programmes. This includes helping partner countries to develop sustainable, equitable ways of managing their water resources.
