The purpose of the SADC Regional Meteorology project is to support and enhance the meteorological services of the SADC countries. The focus is on capacity building and increasing readiness (both human resources and meteorological infrastructure), as well as improving co-operation between the countries in the region. The Inception Phase of this cooperation was implemented by the Meteorological Association of Southern Africa (MASA) and the Meteorological Institute of Finland (FMI).
