Support to Phase II of the Basin-Wide ORASECOM IWRM Plan
The GIZ programme “Transboundary Water Management in SADC" has been requested by the SADC Water Division to support a range of projects that have been put forward by ORASECOM, under Phase 2 of the German-supported ORASECOM Initiative. In this phase, GIZ has prepared Terms of Reference for six sub-projects that form part of the overall suite of projects. In addition, there are a number of initiatives supported by different international cooperating partners underway within the basin.
The focuses of each of these initiatives are different and each one will play a role in improving the capacity of ORASECOM and the member states to manage the basin’s water resources. This project (Support to Phase II of the Basin-Wide ORASECOM IWRM plan) focuses to a large extent on the knowledge function, and more specifically the realisation of a number of steps which are required to reach accord on the status of the basins water resources. More informations are available at the project-website.
