The project focus is on increasing access levels of safe water and Sanitation facilities to households and also targetting schools. Hygiene promotion and community management are key elements integrated into the project implementation with these components:

1. The capacity of the communities, national society staff and volunteers in planning, management and operation of WatSan projects and facilities is improved by 2010

2. Sustainable access to safe and adequate water for domestic use for 36,000 beneficiaries and adequate provision of water for livestock has improved by 2010

3. Hygienic practices and human waste disposal facilities at household and community level, with special focus on the most vulnerable, has improved for 65,562 beneficiaries by 2010
